WE HAVE MADE OUR CHOICE

19/10/1962 00:00

At this point in time, our government has made our decision on how to proceed.

Here are the analysis notes to all the choices:

1. DO NOTHING

This causes no strategic changes, because we have 5000 missiles, while the Soviets had 300. It matters not if the Soviets had 340. However, the US senate says that this would make them look very bad. The United States of America promised its citizens security, and we will not fail to deal with it. Other rumors also report that this was rejected because of a disastrous downfall to national security and pride. This course of action has been rejected.

2. DIPLOMATIC PRESSURE

This was considered, but various reports say that it would damage the United States' credibility with it's allies. They say that it will be seen as a passive nation. There will be no "possibility" that the Soviets will be allowed to shame our country so badly, and threaten us. This course of action has been rejected.

3. SEND A WARNING TO CASTRO

This solution would cause the US to look passive, and was therefore rejected as well.

4. NAVAL BLOCKADE

We have selected this solution. It would have some military action, and it may influence Castro's decision. It was not too aggressive.

5. AIR STRIKE

The US government rejected this idea. Unidentified sources have said that they are worried about looking like trigger-happy cowboys, and cause the Soviet Union to take Berlin because they could not resolve the situation in Cuba peacefully.

6. FULL SCALE INVASION

A big embarassment to our country. Apparently we don't have the resources to invade! Our navy can't carry our armour units and most of our forces would have to land piece by piece! What happened to our once great superpower?

As you have seen, we picked solution number 4. More on the US Senate's decision on tommorow's morning report.
